About Me

I have a PhD in International Relations from the School of International Service (SIS) at American University. My research examines the intersection between grassroots social movements and peace processes in order to expand our understanding of durable war-to-peace transitions. My dissertation explores how regional organizations of rural communities transform the potential of a peace deal into tangible political change.

I currently work the Humanitarian Protection team at InterAction. Through an action-based research project in Colombia, Somalia and Niger we are seeking to reshape humanitarian work in line with the Centrality of Protection mandate. In 2023, I worked with the Chocó office of the UN Verification Mission in Colombia, strengthening relationships between government officials, ethnic authorities, former FARC combatants and other community leaders in order to advance the implementation of the 2016 peace accords.
